  1. I can't believe what I'm seeing here! You have taken Yonge and turned it into what it should be - a place where people can enjoy our city.

  4. Just had a great lunch at the 'park' on Yonge. Nature on Yonge st what a concept. While I sat there eating my roti from the Caribbean restaurant in front of the park, I met a bunch of people and we debated the value of shutting down traffic on Yonge. The conclusion was that lets face it folks, any self respecting Torontonian would never use Yonge as a North/South route through the city, it is only for posers and tourists when it comes to cars. On the other hand, the businesses have all done better...I know because they were the people I met and discussed this with. Time for our city to grow up and make this permanent.
Thanks ING and Bienenstock for setting this up. I never would have found this restaurant, spent my money here or met my neighbors without it. Make it permanent!

  5. Celebration Park looks great! It's a shame it's only here for a month! Build a mini ice rink for winter.

  6. We think that the idea of extended sidewalks is mighty fine. Really great idea for more greenery and it may give Toronto that unique feel other than just having buildings around.

  11. I think that shutting down Yonge St. was a great idea. I work in the area and our neighbours have commented to me that their sales actually went up 30% since Celebrate Yonge started. It's good for business and great for pedestrians.

  16. Love the green space in such a busy area. Would like to see some more food options and maybe a little taller screening along the road in places.
